Tomorrow is November 1st, and I can’t pretend I’m not beyond thrilled. Autumn is my favourite time of year - I swear I have reverse seasonal affective disorder. My mood and energy skyrocket the moment things get cold and grey. I wrote about the seasons in an article a few weeks ago, and described Autumn as more than just for harvest.
“The crops we’ve cared for and nourished throughout the past two seasons have grown and are ready to cultivate. The time and work we’ve put into our projects become worthwhile and we can enjoy our accomplishments. We are reaping the rewards, taking stock of our abundance, and beginning to slow down. This is a period of transition from busy, active work into slow, quiet reprieve. This is the time to join family and friends who have supported us throughout our struggles and enjoy the fruits of our planting. During this season, we have the opportunity to foster gratitude for all of our blessings and the goals we’ve accomplished.”
In spirit of this, I am grateful to see the hard work I’ve put into my writing, hand lettering, and both of my jobs become fruitful. My writing has been published twice on Thought Catalog, my hand lettering has evolved immensely now that I have an iPad Pro at my disposal, and my two jobs are allowing me the freedom to pursue my creative endeavours and remove the pressure of requiring them to sustain me. In terms of gratitude, I would like to begin introducing monthly wallpaper downloads featuring high quality photos paired with my hand lettering to thank you for visiting my site and to give you a reason to return.
November's download is a reminder to refresh your environment and stay aligned with the season you’re in. All seasons are integral and serve a purpose in our lives, whether we recognize this now, or come to understand it in hindsight. Without undertaking the steps in one of the seasons, we are unprepared for the next season to follow. Along the same vein, without knowing scarcity, we cannot fully appreciate abundance. There is a reason we have to think before we act, and plant the seeds before we cultivate our crops.
HOW TO DOWNLOAD: Click on the link below and select Desktop or iPhone wallpaper (or both). Then right click, save that baby, and set it as your wallpaper! Lettering was drawn by hand and designs are for personal use only. I hope you enjoy!
Friendly reminder: As always, all downloads will be free, but keeping up with everything is hard work and I would love to continue putting in the hours. If you want to send a tip or buy me a coffee, you can share your love this way: paypal.me/shanleighwats
